Capitol View, Georgia, is a small and vibrant neighborhood located just 2.5 miles south of downtown Atlanta. It is part of the Atlanta Belt Line, which is a 22-mile transit greenway circling downtown and midtown Atlanta. The Belt Line neighborhoods include Reynoldstown, Berkeley Park and Capitol View Manor. Recently, Capitol View has been experiencing revitalization, with new construction taking place along side the rehabbing of historic bungalows and brick Tudors from the 1930ís. Real estate options here consist of a diverse range of single-family detached homes, condominiums and townhomes as well as land lots for custom building. Nearby, the Sylvan Hills neighborhood offers cozy brick bungalows and big porches. Sylvan Hills has many homes from the Post-War Era and older, that remain in good condition, making the neighborhood desirable for first-time homebuyers looking for a bargain. Residents of this part of Atlanta take full advantage of the multi-purpose Hammond Park, with lighted courts and walking trails. Capitol View Manor was established in 1920 and has a solid brick housing stock with plenty of green space. One of the nicest and largest parks in Atlanta, Perkerson Park offers 50 acres of woods, playgrounds, ball fields, tennis and basketball courts and a small recreation center. This area is served by outstanding schools, including Capitol View Elementary, which recently won an award from the State of Georgia for excellence in education.
